To restore and build an old barn we have been given that was dismantled. It will be built above a basement, similar to our O'Neill Museum. The basement will have several sections in it. One will house our pristine carriages that were donated to us along with other items in our archive. It will be open during business hours for our members and the public to view and study. Another space will be for storing our tables, chairs, decorations, and catering equipment.
The Barn is an Old Gambrel style "Bank Barn" from the early 1900's. Though incomplete due to damage it sustained, our restoration crew is confident they can reconstruct the damaged part and return it to its former glory. The Barn will be the cornerstone of the plan as the Society grounds are turned into a historic event center. The revenue from hosting events will guarantee the future of the Society and our efforts to preserve, cherish, and enjoy the character and history of our town.
